Brona’s AusReading Challenge is happening this month. The main aim of this challenge is to read Australian fiction, non-fiction and poetry. I have a Nevil Shute title I’ve just started (Beyond the Black Stump) as well as a few other books I’m considering if I have time.

Some others:
No Moon Tonight by Don Charlwood – Charlwood also wrote All the Green Year, a coming-of-age story that was used in Australian schools. No Moon Tonight is a memoir of his time serving in Bomber Command during WWII.
Spotty the Bower-Bird & Other Stories by E.S. Sorenson
Sea Shores & Shadows by Colin Thiele. Thiele was a prolific author and my first introduction to him was via Sun on the Stubble.
Or I might add more Nevil Shute…

I have a running list of Australian books for school age children here.
I’ve only read a couple of Thiele’s in my time – Pinquo is my favourite, if you ever find a copy.
Same for Shute – I’ve only read his two most well-known books.
Thanks for joining in again this year 🙂

Good to see that Pinquo is in print, unlike many of his others, unfortunately.
